How To Care For Your New Tattoo
The life of your new tattoo is dependant upon the care it receives within the first few
days…….it takes about two weeks to fully heal, and two more weeks to settle in.
- Keep your tattoo bandaged from 1 to 2 hours.
- Remove gauze and wash tattoo gently with anti-bacterial soap and cool water.
- Rinse thoroughly, lightly pat dry with a clean towel. Do Not wipe dry.
- With clean hands, apply a THIN layer of A&D for 3 days, after that switch to fragrance
free lotion: Cetaphil, Lubriderm, Keri, or Eucerin.
- Apply a THIN layer of lotion and work in well 5 to 6 times a day for the entire
healing process.
- When showering, lather soap in hands, and wash gently with your hand.
DO NOT let the shower stream hit directly onto the tattoo, but above it allowing
to rinse off soap.
- By doing this, it will prevent any scabbing to be forced off by the water stream,
which leads to color loss.
Pat dry, DO NOT Wipe.
DO NOT re-bandage your tattoo
DO NOT use Vaseline, petroleum jelly, or triple anti-biotic ointment
DO NOT use alcohol, or peroxide
DO NOT pick or scratch tattoo
DO NOT soak tattoo in tub or shower - get in, get clean, get out!
Stay out of pools, hot tubs, oceans, puddles, etc. for 1 week.
Keep tattoo out of direct sunlight and/or tanning beds for at least 1 month.

such as 50 SPF.

to manufacturers instructions. If a rash occurs (bumps on or around the tattoo
